I danced all night

My nite was all but short. We, my Gf. and me had an awesome time at a "witch party" and I will soon go to get me a breakfast, then packing my luggage for Ibiza, as last year. My mouth feels like a carpet atm, but after this post I´ll go to my washing room, no matter what 3sat shows on, they do a full day of music, some of which I never ever heard before!*lol* Anybody knows Stevie Nicks? However, I´m a goner for today and will be back from my Island in the meditteranean. Tadah Pilgrim

Paul Celan - Todesfuge

Paul Celan - Todesfuge Sorry to give you another link instead of the full txt of Paul Celans "Todesfuge" - "Fugue des Mortes, thx to Martin, who sent me the link. It´s in german so not all of you will read, let alone understand it. Maybe you can use a translator to get the sense of thi great piece of a great poet, who died on April 20, 1970, thirty years ago! Propz Pilgrim ...and please give a note in the comments whether or not you could read or tranlate it, will you?! :-)

What´s the secret?

Yesterday afternoon Val sorta crashed our Easter mondaily meeting w/the grandparents. He arrived by train, called me and I stupidly told him, where to go to.After he was here, he told me that he asked the cab driver for a lebanese family in ----street. It was well embarrassing and I sorta shrunk under the carpet when he introduced himself as my - friend -: Ouf! He was welcomed by my grandparents and parents, but my bro´s remained suspicious. Even the little one reasoned on him to me later that evening, asking me where he´s from, what he is, who he is, all the darn questions only 7yrs. old can ask! And I mean, what the heck had Val to do here? He was neither expected nor invited! But lebanese/arab tradition forces one to take guests as they come. How do kids always seem to know, what is so special about a visitor?*sigh*    Today we we ripping Expo Plaza encore, the weather is fine like 15C/62F.   And btw., in some days I´ll have my first anniversary in the blogosphere!   Hope, all my readers had a blessed and happy Easter! :-)  Tadah Pilgrim

Rickiy Martin, La sainte Sémaine and a new injury

Well, to begin with, Ricky Martins ouzing was actually old news, since rumor was already around for too long! :-D But then there is much more of surprise in knowing, that Angelo Garcia (of the same line-up as Ricky), turned also out to be gay! Coincidecnce?!?     Now, it´s Easter week, a time to pray harder, take Lent hardest to culminate in the Resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. We have a last supper a.k.a. communion after confession on Maundy Thursday, then in the end of mass the altar is veiled. On Good Friday a rememberance mass without music is held. The Top day is the Resurrection Mass on Saturday evening (followed by a wake in the lutheran church). To attend Resurrection Mass makes it easier to do Easter Sunday´s main course of lamb, a traditional in my family. John might disagree to all this, since the american Catholics seem to have other rites! :-)   Last but not least, the other day I injured my left hand wrist while skating inline. Hurts, but what doesn´t kill you immediately only makes you tougher, as my dad referred from my greatgrandfather.   So I wish you all a happy Easter. :-)   Tadah Pilgrim

Back again and other noneties

As you can read, I´m back, though I still suffer a strong writing blockade. Anyway, I promised some peepz to be in Brighton in commemoration of Chris. Thx to the BA being on strike, my flight was cancelled. Good thing on that part; I received a 100% refund for my ticket. On another note; I finished my first doctorate, results are to be expected after the french Easter break. Then I´ll start over w/my second doctorate to possibly finish it before Christmas/Winter break. Sorry for this rather brief update, hope to be able to txt more again. Tadah Pilgrim

Birthday survival

Last day was my 20th birthday., yep! I had a great one, a small lunch at my friend Val, in the evening a big dinner with my Gf. We´d d been at Hélene Darroze´s Restaurant for an extended dinner of 5 courses.1. poulliettes de chambre au limon et raisins, 2., loup de mer aux moutardes de Dijon, 3., pate des légumes aux ailes et sucre, 4., Créme bordélaise, 5. fromages des ardennes aux hérbes d´hiver, café, cognac et glace auxerrois. A great menu! :-)  ...Then a big SORRY to all, that I didn´t post earlier, but then; who of you got b-day greets from Freddie Prinze jr. or Nicolai Djupesland! :-P  Nothing else to tell, so laters! Berlin is in Germany

Yep, I´m in Berlin for the Winterclash Comp., but it´s rather an amassing crowd on rollerblades and I get e-mails by the second from german, french and other european bladers as well from americans ,where I am! But if you can reunite with half your immediate family you got more to do than meeting everybody you either met unrecognized or by default. My older bro. is here as well, and my dad for the Berlin Film Festival. So of course everybody has to stay back. At the moment we sit in a restaurant, waiting for dinner and talking about the most recent events. Family stuff and a bit of politics. Tomorrow is the big day of our contest, while dad can "enjoy" the movies! :-D  I´ll rather stop here, otherwise my soup gets cold!  Laters Pilgrim

The snow has gone

It took me half an hour for a way I use to walk in ten mins. to the institute. Paris is either watery or icy. Small wonder at 10C. Last tuesday training was aborted for the "slippery when wet" conditions. On the other hand that gave me a chance to catch up with my doctorate, so I´m at about 400 sides. 500 are required. Wih me luck! ...on another term, Val hasn´t been around for quite a while, seems his coming out was not so well received by his rents! Heck, what coud I do, if necessary? ...Elsehow I´m fine! :-)   Tadah Pilgrim

Dinner at Val

It was a promising evening, until after dessert Val came out to his parents. I just divined myself, leaving the house in a rush.I was not prepared on such a thing! Fortunately I met my Gf: and went for a drink. I am totally shattered.  She helped me up! We have a lot in common. Val, my Gf. and ,me. But we don´t share our sexuality! That would be too weird! C´est la guerre!

Calling old friends of Grandma for their respective b-day is hell! She made me feel so bad, I had to !cry. My advice, never car your Gandparents friends!....on another note, my date with Val was lesser a date but a normal meeting, one of those you hang out with, having a bottle of drinks, some Chips. The temps. were like -6C, but we didn´t bother. We were just happy!  I suppose to have a new Lover! Tadash Pilgrim

What calling for?

Past days I had some calls from Val, asking for a "Date"!*lol* As i if I would date a junior to me! What do you think? He is of legal age, not unknown to me(as you might know, my dear readers) but that was too much! I mean, meeting him at the rugby ground is one thing, but wanna dating me is a totally other thing. You get me? I need some help on this!   Laters Pilgrim

We´re open again!

Having survived Christmas, New year, St, Moritz and my fanily, I foumd an online love or two, a boy from Norway and a girl from Chili. I.R.L I´m back in Paris and gonna see Val tonite, though he has to go to school again. :-) I´m happy all around! Two weeks in the snow, a just minor injury, but I live! :-) ...on another note I found so many blogs I followed are deleted! Why?! Ain´t we worth reading your blogs or what? This goes to Davey, M-Boy etc.! Others transferred their blogs to Nibblebit, or Wordpress, where one can harly follow them! WTF is that good for? Two weeks off, more or less and my blogoshere turns upside down! :-(  Laters Pilgrim

2010

Happy new year to all! :-) We are in St.Moritz, Switzerland, Rafiq, my Gf. and me, having a real decadent ski vacation. We have a great time skiing and partying, and whether we go skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing, it´s always fun! Last nite was a gala dinner and party(of course) til the drinks got stale in the barkeepers hands. This morning we had brunch in our suite, delivered by a Bellboy, who would make Torchy envious! :-D I hope he won´t be angry at me for the pic! :-)  Tadah Pilgrim

The Christmas Truce 1914

On Holy eve 95 years ago, amidst the already entrenched armies of the British Expedition Forces and the germans, it happened. While the Brits had an extra ration of rum, the Germans received small trench fitting christmas trees. At this place near La Bassee, East Flanders the trenches were not 300ft. away from their enemies counterparts. German soldiers began to sing christmas carols and were heard by the Brits, who suddenly started to join in. The German troopers put up their lightened trees over their parapets and shouted Happy Christmas to the british parapets. So did the Brits and after a while the First Soldiers left their trenches on both sides and met in No mans land. They exchanged small presents like a can of beef or tobacco, showed each other their respective family pictures and some scottish soldier even produced a football, so the soldiers played a match, which the Germans won 3-2. This informal truce lived about a week, before the respective High Commands ordered them back to fight, the Brits removing the two involved regiments. The war continued. Have you all a merry Christmas! :-) Tadah Pilgrim

Strange Day

This morning at 11am CET we had the 6 - week mass for Sam, his parents asked me to hold a sermon obout him and his life and provided me w/input before, that I never knew before. I was stunned, not by the fact they handed me out his life before I had knoen him, but the sheer amount of stuff, i.e. his diary. ´Nuff said?! Anyway, it was a nice mass and prbly. the first ever with Eminem songs instead of organ and choir. Needlss to say the church was full, his akumni from lycée as well from uni, his family, my Gf. and me. And I was the least bit sad! :-) ...In other news, this weekend we have christmas vacations and I´m glad to see my family and friends in H.town again. It will take me some days to speak an agreable german, but fortunately they speak english, french, turkish or arabic, so a convo will not be that hard to lead! :-) In good mood...Tadah Pilgrim

Lost weekend

Hello world, I´m still alive! :-) But yesterday and today are like black holes in my mind. As for today I went to Sam´s grave on Cimétiere Montparnasse, where I sat on a bench like a homeless, talking to alternatly him or his neighbors, le Général Aupick, his wife and strpson Charles Baudelaire about this day, having a 3 ltr. bottlle w/a mix of Osbourne bramndy and Fanta with me as warmer and only nourishment. It was feeling temps. like -4C, but I sat there, clochard like, from like lunchtime till it was dark. My only chance since my Grandma´s grave is near H.town, 500 or so, miles away.No yummy christmas cake and coffee for me, but an exercitium. Bet my confession father would not approve such one. But as the saying is; chacun a sa facon! Laters Pilgrim...and I promise to post more often again. Take my word!
