Today, 95 yrs. ago, the Btitish Empire Central, London, asked the german ambassador in to the Foreign Office, where Sir Edward Grey handed him over the Declaration of War, in duty to the british guarantees towards Belgium. World War I is indeed the quintessential European catastrophe of the 20th century, it begun like a terrible domino game, and in the end (you know I wrote about it recently), this war does nothing than destroying and further destruction to prepare.
