Workers Day

I just want to remember everyone, that today is the International Workers Day, holiday all over Europe , and prbly. in most other countries(exept the US), as far as I know. Originally founded by the 2nd Intérnationale on their founding congress in Paris 1890. 2yrs. later it was declared to be the "Feast day of the workers of all countries of the world"! So raise your fist, join the column and shout out loud "Red Front"!

And in 1955 Pius XII "baptized" it by making it the feast of St. Joseph the Worker to remind Catholics both of the inherent dignity of work as a collaboration with God in building the world and human society and of the right of workers to just treatment from their employers.

Joe, true enough too, but which Monteur at Renault thinks about this?

It's one of the Church's problems — getting the word out to our nominal members. This applies to lots more than the dignity and rights of workers, of course.

When the two most startling sentences are plucked from a document and put in a news story with none of the reasoning which leads to the conclusion, people naturally wonder how they could think such things.
